Demanding, wooded stage, long ascent to the Hörnleberg Chapel, long stage over Rohrhardsberg and its foothills, steep descent to Wittenbach
Rohrhardsberg is the focus of the third day, inconspicuous and wild at the same time. High above the Elz Valley, near Hörnleberg, the first highlight of the day, the ridge walk begins to the highest point of the stage. It then descends over the mountain ridge, which thrusts northward into the course of the Elz like a wedge. At its far end near Kapfhütte, a breathtaking view beckons.
