Since early August you can also find places to stay in Austria and Switzerland. The local area guide is created there after you book, just as it is in Germany. More countries will follow.

We've signed a partnership that will significantly grow our offering over the coming weeks. Most of the new stays are in Germany — cities, countryside, coast, the whole mix. We're unlocking the new hosts step by step and would love to hear which regions or cities you'd like us to prioritise. Send us a note — we'll bump them up the queue.

The launch phase has ended. There are only two rates now: the regular 9%, split between guest and host, and 4% for Pioneers. The Pioneer rate goes to the first 111 hosts, granted with the first published listing. It belongs to the account and covers all listings permanently, including ones added later. Existing Pioneers keep their rate.

Starting today we're opening up four features for everyone: our new local area guide, bookable extras like breakfast or parking, search filters and sorting, and automatic translations of property descriptions. All are freshly live and will keep being built out step by step.

Guests can now leave a FAIR review after their stay. On other platforms, the average rating is 4.7 out of 5 — anything below feels like a failure. These inflated scales have become meaningless. At Fairvisit, guests rate based on expectations: "How was your stay compared to what you expected?" A 3 out of 5 means "as expected" — and that's a solid rating. Only from 4 upwards was it better than expected. For hosts this means: a good property gets a fair rating, not one measured against an inflated scale.

• FAIR = four dimensions instead of one number: Friendliness (communication with the host), Accuracy (did the listing match?), Impression (condition on arrival), and Region (location for your purpose).
• Only guests review properties — hosts don't rate guests. No pressure to inflate ratings out of fear of retaliation.
• Every review comes from a real guest with a real booking — there are no reviews without a verified stay.
• Instead of averages we show e.g. "87% above expectation · 12 reviews" — a metric you can actually read at a glance.

You can now register and list your property on Fairvisit. Online booking with payment processing is currently being activated and will follow shortly — in the meantime, enquiries go directly to the host via email. Update: online booking with payment processing is live in the meantime.
