Goldsteig N 12 Schönbuchen – Eck
On the Kaitersberg, hikers can look forward to an impressive, varied ridge hike. From Schönbuchen, via Reitenberg toward Kaitersberg, the trail passes the Räuber-Heigl Cave and Mittagstein - a memorial here commemorates the last world war - to the Kötztinger Hut. There is an opportunity to stop for refreshments there, with a unique panoramic view over the Zellertal. The path then continues through the almost alpine terrain of the Steinbühler Gesenk, with rock ledges in places over 50 m high, to the legendary Rauchröhren. Through a typical forest landscape with isolated rock formations and lightly rooted paths, hikers reach the picturesque Waldschmidt Memorial at Großer Riedelstein. The spot invites you to enjoy one more view before descending to Gasthaus Eck.
